Drinking 100 percent pure fruit juice in our childhoods leads to healthier diet patterns without adversely impacting on weight gain.

In a study it was found that drinking fruit juice is equal to a higher intake of whole fruit and better diet quality through childhood and into middle adolescence.

Studies say that over 10 years of follow-up, juice consumption within the range consumed by the children (1-2 cups per day), was not associated with excess weight gain during childhood.

And preschoolers with a higher intake of 100 per cent fruit juice had higher intakes of whole fruit at 14-17 years of age than those of those who consumed lesser juice.

Also, it was found that children with higher fruit juice consumption during preschool time had a significantly higher diet as compared to people with lower intake of all ages.

However, it was said that a higher consumption of 100% fruit juice does not result in weight gain.
